Summer 2014, North Wales - Rock Climbing and Coasteering.

What a glorious summer! I have spent plenty of time in the sea and on the rock. Lots of work in North Wales with a big mix of groups and ages having it in the outdoors. Here are some pictures when I could take the camera out and a short gorge movie.

06-05-12, Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure - Rock Climbing, Coasteering, Gorge Walking

Over the weekend, we had team Au Pair in Snowdonia, doing a range of outdoor activities. The girls had never been to Wales so enjoyed the weekend of sunshine and adrenaline!

24-09-11, Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure - Coasteering

Today Kathryn and myself have been coasteering with a group of ladies on a hen weekend. The sea was rough this morning so we decided to do some sea level traversing. Soon the sun came out the winds dropped, so some coasteering was back on the agenda. I was working for Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure.

09-07-11, Tremadog and Nefyn - Climbing and Coasteering

Last week the weather was very warm and the crags were bone dry. Unfortunatley working in the day time but managed to do some climbing in the evenings mainly in the Llanberis Pass. The dry spell in Snowdonia ended on Tuesday but came back today. I have been out with a family of 4 this weekend. We climbed Bramble Buttress at Tremadog then headed to Nefyn on the Lleyn penninsula for some coasteering. The sea was slight and the weather was most definittly beautiful and warm.

30-06-11, Sea Side Adventures, Anglesey - Coasteering and SLT

 I have spent the last couple of weeks working for Dolawen and Sea2Summit on multi-activity adventure weeks. I have spent plenty of time by the sea side on the cliffs and zawns of Anglesey. Both Sea Level Traversing (SLT) staying dry with clip lines, ropes and Tyroleans and Coasteering, wetsuited up enjoying the swell, climbs and jumps. The NW tip of Anglesey has an amazing coastline from secluded bays and beautiful sandy beaches to towering quartzite rock cliffs. There are numerous venues to do these activities depending on conditions and group ability.

27-10-10, SLT,Coasteering,Gorge Walking - Snowdonia

The last couple of days I have been working with Sussex Army Cadets in Snowdonia. The first day we went to the sea cliffs of Holy Island and did some Sea-Level Traversing, with ropes staying dry, and in the afternoon went Coasteering. The team really enjoyed themselves and found it an 'awesome' adventure. The day after was stormy and wet, we headed to the Afon Ddu gorge. The weather in Wales has turned very wintery, rain and strong winds.

15-08-10, Porth Dafarch - Coasteering

Today I have been Coasteering at Porth Dafarch. Tom, Tom and James have just graduated from Nottingham Uni and are having a holiday in North Wales and fancied doing something fun and adventurous. The sun was out, the sea was slight, conditions were great for climbing up, down and across the sea cliffs inter-tidal zone. We found several jumps into deep water, and ventured our way into some of the deep cut rifts. The lads thoroughly enjoyed themselves and came to the conclusion that it was a far better activity than the tree top adventure they did the day before.

Coasteering is a great natural, fun, exciting, adventurous way to discover the coastline. There is plenty of opportunity to jump, climb, swim and see the great architecture of the rock up and close which is hard to see from a far.

31-07-10, SNOWDONIA OUTDOOR ADVENTURE

Today I have walked up Snowdon, with a team on a charity mission. The weather was fairly gross, when it wasn't drizzling it was raining heavily, the wind wasn't too bad though.

27-07-10, Anglesey - Coasteering

Today Steve and myself decided to do something different. We embarked on an epic coasteer journey around Holy Island. We got in at Treaddur Bay and journeyed our way along the coast line, climbing, swimming and jumping past Porth Dafarch and along to Porth Ruffydd. The sea state was slight and the temperature fairly warm - more than ideal for coasteering. We had a quick coffee break at 5 then headed back for more with a traverse of North Stack, getting in at Main Cliff and finishing near Tsunami Zawn. This part of the journey was most excellent, allow a special view of the great climbs of Gogarth from the sea. We climbed and swam a lot of traverse and even managed to find a few jumps!

We travelled about 10km and took us 7 hours.
