Summer 2014, North Wales - Rock Climbing and Coasteering.

What a glorious summer! I have spent plenty of time in the sea and on the rock. Lots of work in North Wales with a big mix of groups and ages having it in the outdoors. Here are some pictures when I could take the camera out and a short gorge movie.

Lleyn Peninsula, Charlies Point, Wylfa Corner - quality line and climb.
Parliament House Cave, get in!
Steve, climbing steep Bird Rock, Daisy Belle.
Matt, he doesn't think its steep!
Alternative Castel Ellin view!
Cristina loves abseiling off massive overhanging cliffs!
Coasteering North Stack, Gogarth.
Big Jumps on the South Stack traverse.
Aaron getting involved in some esoteric Ester Island Gully, Gogarth action.
Easter Island Gully, Gogarth.
Fallen Block Crack, high up on Crib y Ddysgol.
Mad for it MOD guys, take on the Gogarth North Stack coasteering experience!
Glyders, Llanberis Pass, Crib Goch.
Lleyn Peninsula, we found some less crumbly rock to abseil off, instead of linking gorse stumps and rabbits holes together!
Main Wall, Classic Rock.

Matt still loves jumping!
South Stack Lighthouse.
Sssshhh, evening stealth climb at Craig y Forwyn!

The Corner, Cloggy, very dry for a change.
Deep in the innards of Wen Zawn.
Wen Zawn shinanigans.

June 2013 - UK Cragging and Work

We have had some fantastic dry spells and now some wet ones. Plenty of evening cragging after work and a trip to Lakes to take advantage of some high pressure. I have been working on some rock climbing courses, giving some technical advice but mainly out with young people on outdoor education residential trips. Here's a snippet SLT and Climbing picture from Gary Smith.
Afon Gain, below the first jumps.
Slip Knot, an awesome VS on White Ghyll Crag.
Tyrolean at Gogarth South, SLT workshop evening.
More atmospheric Gain action.

12-05-12, Gorge Walking and Rock Climbing - Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure

Today I have been out with Lindsay and Dave. Glorious weather, and very busy in the park this weekend. A day out with Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure was a birthday present for Dave, so he requested a gorge walk and rock climbing. This morning we climbed a couple of multi pitch rock routes on Tryfan Bach, then to the Afon Ddu gorge to cool off. The gorge was a at a great level today, plenty of powerful waterfalls and slides.

28-08-11, Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure - Gorge Scrambling

I have been out working for Snowdonia Outdoor Adventure with Andy this weekend. We took a group of friends up the Afon Ddu gorge which was enjoyed by all. The weather in Snowdonia has been fairly mixed, many passing heavy showers, but these haven't been heavy or constant enough to raise the river levels.

27-10-10, SLT,Coasteering,Gorge Walking - Snowdonia

The last couple of days I have been working with Sussex Army Cadets in Snowdonia. The first day we went to the sea cliffs of Holy Island and did some Sea-Level Traversing, with ropes staying dry, and in the afternoon went Coasteering. The team really enjoyed themselves and found it an 'awesome' adventure. The day after was stormy and wet, we headed to the Afon Ddu gorge. The weather in Wales has turned very wintery, rain and strong winds.
Outdoor adventure days for families, friends and parties are available from Snowdonia Outdoor Adventures. Bookings for 2011 are already been taken. If you book by April 2011, organisers of groups of 6 or more can book for free.
